Thank you for submitting to the Neighborhood Photography Project! The goal of this year’s photo project was to showcase the often invisible process behind the building of Boston’s physical landscape, including the people who make it happen. Read about our partnership with the Carpenters Center.
Our Photos Got Traffic.
(Literally).
The Carpenters Center is the new home of the New England Regional Council of Carpenters (NERCC). The building, designed by ADD Inc and built by members of the carpenters union, features an incredible LED media wall facing Interstate 93. Because of the limitations of the design of the media wall and its proximity to the highway, these photos were curated, and detailed rules for size and composition applied.

The Web gallery will be online for an unlimited amount of time. The photos are construction-related to represent our theme, which explores how buildings are made. The Web competition had fewer technical limitations on image orientation and design. Both the Media Wall photos and the Web competition photos are included in the gallery.
